SGT Bobby LisekUS Army

    SGT Bobby Lisek

SGT Lisek served in the United States Army from 2000-2006. Bobby reached the rank of Sergeant during his service in the effort to fight the war on terror. While traveling in a vehicle through Iraq, on the third anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Bobby was injured by an IED (improvised explosive device) that detonated under his seat. He was 26 years old at the time and suffered severe trauma resulting in a broken back, broken neck, traumatic brain injury, and amputation.

    Returning Home

Bobby has overcome his trauma valiantly after coming home to the states in 2005. He had to re-learn how to walk and his fine motor skills; tasks we take for granted every day. Bobby met his wife shortly after returning, married two years later, and started a family. Bobby and wife Mary now have two beautiful daughters. Though it was a long and challenging road Bobby says that he is now able to live a close to normal life.

    Goals and JCS

After being introduced to JCS in February of 2016 Bobby and his family were officially adopted during the annual Gala in January 2017. Bobby and Mary had a life-long dream of owning their own business as taxidermists. Combining Bobby’s passion for hunting, fishing, and outdoors-man-ship he and his wife are setting off on their goal to turn that passion into a livelihood.  Thanks to your generous support, JCS was able to make that dream come true.
