SFC Justin McVay

Heroes | Nashville Heroes

For 18 years, Justin had the honor of serving in the U.S. Army as an aviator and leader in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, logging more than 3,000 flight hours on the MH-47G and completing 55 deployments. Those years shaped his character — they taught him discipline, humility, and how to lead with integrity even when the environment is uncertain and the stakes are high.

In June 2023, everything changed when Justin’s helicopter went down in Syria. The crash left him hospitalized for six months and forced him to rebuild himself physically, mentally, and spiritually. That period became the hardest and most defining chapter of his life. It showed Justin that real strength isn’t just about what you endure but how you rise, rebuild, and choose gratitude in the face of adversity. His injuries still impact his daily life and activities and will likely require more intervention in the future.

Today, he serves as an Assistant Project Manager with Faith Technologies, carrying those lessons into a new chapter of purpose and growth. He’s committed to building, leading, and contributing with the same relentless mindset that carried him through his military career. Above all, he intends to move forward with faith, gratitude, and a deep appreciation for the second chance he’s been given.

Justin is married to Tiffany and they have four children: Owen, Emmamae, Adalee, and Annierose.
