Cpl. Joshua Meetze

Heroes | Nashville Heroes

Josh Meetze joined the Marine Corp straight out of high school in 2009. His specialty was locating and disarming IEDs. While serving in Afghanistan in 2010, he was injured when he stepped on an IED. The blast left him with a spinal injury, a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and internal injuries. Josh’s injuries have caused him to be hunched over and he cannot stand up straight. He uses a walker to get around. He now has a hand bike he uses often to strengthen his upper body.

He was medically discharged from the Marines in August 2013.

Josh now resides with his sister/caregiver in Clarksville. He loves working on his Mustang that he keeps in perfect condition. He is also pool shark so don’t try and take him on for a game! Josh is in the process of building his own specialized computer. One of the ways JCS/Nashville was able to help Josh was to help him out with the components. He is definitely a very talented computer expert and is working hard to put it all together.

JCS hopes that Josh will be able to live on his own someday. We look forward to working with him to help him achieve that goal. When he is ready, we will help him find alternative housing. He is a great young man and we are proud he is one of our JCS/Nashville heroes.
