We are excited to announce the details for our 2nd Annual Trivia Night - "Salute to Heroes" - on November 7, 2009. Given the overwhelming response to our last trivia night, we have moved to a new, larger location - Overland American Legion, Post 338. Email JCSociety@gmail.com for more information, including to receive a copy of our brochure concerning the event. Tables are still available. If it would be more convenient for you, please email us and we can instruct you how to pay online or you can call in with your credit card. Also, please consider donating to our silent auction. We need your help to make this another successful event on behalf of our first JCS Hero - Sgt. Joshua Eckhoff - and future JCS Heroes. We look forward to seeing you on November 7th!!

We are excited to announce the details for new fundraising event on behalf of the Joshua Chamberlain Society. On Saturday, October 10, 2009, we will be the beneficiaries of a fun event - a Sporting Clays Tournament at Blackhawk Valley Hunting Preserve (1259 Brevator Rd., Old Monroe, MO 63369). For those of you who have never participated in a sporting clays tournament, think of a golf tournament, but with shotguns! There are 14 "stations" where shooters have to target clay pigeons being sent out at various angles and trajectories. The competing teams rotate through those stations and the team that shoots the most clay pigeons wins! Cost is $100 per shooter - 5 shooters per team. Registration and continental breakfast starts at 8am. The tournament lasts from 9-11:30am. Lunch, additional games, raffle, silent auction, and award presentation lasts from 11:30-1:00pm We are excited to have several former Cardinal and Blues players who will be in attendance, as well. If you don't have a full team, don't worry, we'll put you on a team with other JCS supporters. Lastly, even if you don't want to participate in the event, but are interested in helping make it a success, we are looking for an event sponsor, lunch sponsor, and are selling "station" sponsorships for $250 (have your or your company's name listed at what proves to be a fun event to benefit a great cause!).
