Making A Difference

WAYS WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE

  1. Remodel of bathroom for SSgt. Eckhoff. Details here in PDF
  2. JCS Transportation Initiative - a team of dedicated volunteers that drive SSgt. Eckhoff to and from his rehabilitation appointments and college classes so he does not need to rely on his only other option of public transportation.
  3. Payment of transportation costs for SSgt. Eckhoff's family to transport him back and forth from rehabilitation.
  4. Assisting SSgt. Remsburg's steps towards independence by purchasing a watch for his use in starting to track the date, time, and day, as well as help him start managing his own schedule.
  5. Assisting SSgt. Eckhoff's steps towards independence by purchasing a kitchen table and chairs for use in his new house, located five doors down from his parents' home.
  6. Paying the travel expenses for SSgt. Remsburg and his parents to return home to St. Louis for the first time since his injuries.
  7. SSgt. Eckhoff's bathroom in his new house after he faced considerable and insurmountable red tape from the Veterans Administration regarding the project.
  8. Helped SSgt. Cory Remsburg's continued progress towards independence from his severe injuries by purchasing specialized furniture and other furnishings for his apartment - his first "home" after leaving the Tampa VA Hospital
  9. Significant donation towards the building of a home for Cpl. Todd Nicely that will have special features to help him cope with his injuries.
  10. Paying the rent for Cpl. Todd Nicely while he awaits the building of his new home.
  11. Paying transportation costs for SSgt. Joshua Eckhoff to travel to doctor appointments, university classes, and rehab appointments.
  12. Paying travel costs for SSgt. Cory Remsburg’s parents that are no longer covered by government benefits so they can be with him as often as possible.
  13. Setting up and funding, with an initial significant donation, a 529 college savings account for Taylor Heldt, daughter of LCpl. Erik Heldt, to make up the difference between the government benefit for tuition and the actual cost of tuition when Taylor attends college.
